Audition for FAME, JR!
World Stage Theatre Company is excited to announce auditions for its upcoming production of the vibrant musical Fame, Jr.!, directed by David Harris. This is a fantastic opportunity for young performers to shine! We are committed to casting a diverse ensemble and encourage performers of all backgrounds, ethnicities, and genders to audition.
Audition Details
- Date: Thursday, December 4th, 2025
- Time: 6:30 PM
- Location: Central High School – 3101 W Edison St, Tulsa, OK 74127 (Auditorium Entrance on the East side of the campus -29th W. Ave)
- What to Prepare:
- Please prepare 16-32 bars of a Broadway song in the style of the show (pop, rock, or contemporary musical theatre). Please bring your tracks (without the vocals – find a karaoke track to play via YouTube, iTunes, Spotify, or Amazon Music, etc.)
- You will be asked to learn a short dance combination. Please wear clothes and shoes you can move in.
- Bring: A current headshot and résumé (if you have one).
- Rehearsal Commitment: Rehearsals will begin in January, 2026. A draft rehearsal schedule will be provided at the audition.
- Performance Dates: March 27-29, 2026
Character Breakdown (Fame, Jr.!)
We are seeking young performers for the following roles. Ages listed are approximations for the performers’ maturity level/stage presence, as the characters are high school students.

| CARMEN DIAZ | Teen | Female | A passionate, dynamic dancer and singer. Craves fame above all else. Must be a strong singer and mover with a powerful stage presence. |
| SERENA KATZ | Teen | Female | A shy, classically trained actress. Highly intellectual but insecure about her looks. Requires a strong, sweet soprano voice. |
| NICK PIAZZA | Teen | Male | A serious, dedicated actor who struggles to connect emotionally with others. Often anxious and intense. Requires a strong, clear tenor voice. |
| TYRONE JACKSON | Teen | Male | A talented dancer who struggles with reading and academics. Energetic, charming, and street-smart. Must be an excellent dancer. |
| IRIS KELLY | Teen | Female | An elegant, classically trained ballerina who comes across as snobbish. Often paired with Tyrone. Must be a strong dancer. |
| SCHLOMO METZENBAUM | Teen | Male | A sensitive, talented musician and composer. Quiet and thoughtful. Requires a strong pop/rock voice and piano skills are a plus. |
| MS. SHERMAN | Adult | Female | The stern English teacher. Demands academic excellence but cares deeply for her students. Requires a mature, commanding presence and strong singing voice. |
| ENSEMBLE | Teen | Any | A large, versatile cast of students, dancers, singers, and actors. Excellent opportunity for performers with strong dance skills. |
